Earth Day serves as an annual reminder of the everyday battle our planet faces for a cleaner and greener environment. This year, the theme is Planet vs Plastics and Relax Gaming are united in the fight for change.
Planet vs Plastics
Plastic waste continues to devastate our ecosystems, wildlife and health which is having a considerable impact on the planet’s sustainability. EARTHDAY.ORG are committed to drive for a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040.
EARTHDAY recognise that promoting awareness will be a key factor and by doing this it should help reach the goal to phase out all single use plastics by 2030, aided by the creation of innovative technologies and sustainable materials to build towards a plastic-free planet.
The good news, we can all make a positive difference, including us at Relax in our various locations around the world.
Relax’s contribution
As a company, we strive to provide eco-friendly, reusable items to both our employees and our customers and help educate them on how they can contribute to a healthier world.
Our offices span across six countries, but we’re united in doing our bit to build towards a sustainable future in Estonia, Finland, Gibraltar, Malta, Serbia and Sweden.
Each of our 300+ employees are provided with an Relax branded aluminium water bottle, which not only looks cool – but helps save the planet and reduce plastics.
Aluminium is fast becoming one of the best plastic alternatives because it’s safe, durable, reusable and contributes to eliminating single-use plastic waste. Plus, it is a material which can be recycled infinitely without compromising packaging value.
All ten of our offices are playing their part to use less plastic and in turn benefit the world that we live in. For example, in Malta recyclable drink containers from the office are converted into tokens which go towards supporting local animal shelters which has resulted in high participation rates.
Anna Barling, Group Office Manager at Relax Gaming, said: “We’re proud to have played our small part in the fight against plastic and will continue to do so through our own recycling efforts and various initiatives.
“We’re thrilled to say that in both Sweden and Estonia we operate a zero plastic policy in our offices and any plastic waste we do collect in the majority of our offices is recycled locally.”
